Claire Gaynor debut album ‘Devotion’ released April 30th catalogue No. LHPCD103.

With the US release of the limited edition promo ‘Gone for good’ comes the UK debut album ‘Devotion’ penned by Claire Gaynor and performed by her band Big River. In today’s pop scene, where song craft takes a backseat to high-tech production, this collection of original songs promises to bring it all back to the realm of real songs, lush harmonies and irresistible hooks.

It was aged 13 that Claire bought her first guitar setting her sights on the songwriting talents of the late great Sandy Denny and later Kim Richey, Shawn Colvin and Marcus Hummon to name but a few and began composing songs, arranging harmonies, learning fiddle piano and bass along the way. Later, tours of North America with the Sweet Soul Sisters followed, with TV and radio appearances both at home and abroad.

For the new album the melodies came first, and soon Vince Gills Nashville fiddle player John Permenter, Sarah Jory, the female pedal steel player, Simon Nicol and Chris Leslie members of Fairport convention all came on board to record ‘Devotion’.

“in the tradition of Sheryl Crow & Shania Twain , this one is a gutsy collection of catchy songs which have already taken US radio by storm”......the Daily Mail.

This album has truly been the devotion of each musician who has dedicated their time and energy to colour my songs with their unique talents.

There are so many people to thank: Firstly, my wonderful Band, ' Big River ' : Paul Whittington, Paul Bryant, Tim Rylands, Paul Swift and Paul Merrell, it has been an honour and a pleasure working with you gentlemen! The loyalty, patience, dedication and tireless energy you all brought to this project has never faltered during arranging, producing, and recording….and we still managed to gig! …. I love you all to bits!

Thankyou to the players who stepped into my world and showed me the true meaning of the word 'Devotion' in every sense of the word, a devotion to the joy and fulfilment in the creation of harmony and verse.

Ladies first!….. Thank you to Sarah Jory for your sheer brilliance, and enthusiasm, it was a joy working with you….the lovely Dianne Lee for your humour, your very high harmonies, and for your friendship and encouragement, you are the brightest star of all….. Mr John ("ya wanna 'stack em'?") Permenter, Nashville fiddler 'extraordinaire' - seeing is believing, and I believed it when I heard it, you are a true professional, and an amazing player, thank you so much, you worked 'above' and 'beyond!'….to Bob Dixon, Dave Sheriff and Paul Collins for coming up with 'exactly the right thing…you are all perfectionists! …and a big thank you to Chris Leslie and Simon Nicol…for your time, your patience, and the lifetime of inspiration your music has, and continues to give.

I truly believe I have stood on the shoulder's of giants…and without them my view of the world would be a little bit smaller, and the colours less vivid….

Thank you all…..Claire xxx
